Pelvic Floor for Partner Dancers - in Portland!

SOLD OUT!

DanceMode is excited to have Seattle-based Feldenkrais Practitioner Rachel Hamstra in Portland for a 2 hrs Pelvic Floor Workshop! Space is limited to 10 people, so register now!

The pelvic floor is a mysterious set of muscles that dancers hear about a lot and use a ton, but that can all happen without knowing much about it or knowing how to access it consciously. In this Feldenkrais workshop, we'll clear up some of those mysteries, and become more aware of how the pelvic floor works and learn how to access it to help you become a stronger dancer.
We'll be exploring how balance, propulsion, and clarity of steps within andoutside of a partnership improve with the help of the pelvic floor.

Happy New Year! This week's lesson in class will be a new clock variation that we haven't done before. It takes the pelvic clock, which we're already familiar with, and uses it as a tool to clarify a head clock. It's great for all kinds of back and neck soreness, jaw tightness, and spine mobility. Ongoing weekly Awareness Through Movement class. Beginners welcome. Drop-ins welcome if space allows.

This week, a lesson that I've nicknamed the Anti Computer Hunch. It's also excellent for self care as we come up on the craziness of the holidays.

This is also the last Thursday class of the year! Wednesday class will continue through the holidays.

Ongoing weekly Awareness Through Movement class. Beginners welcome. Drop-ins welcome if space allows.

Hello, Thanksgiving (and the holiday season stress that comes with it)! I've heard some people say this week is moving too fast, others can't wait for it to end - must be time to hit the reset button with a breathing lesson.

There will be no class on Thursday this week because of the holiday. There's lots of drop-in space in my Wednesday class though! Come on by.

Ongoing weekly Awareness Through Movement class. Beginners and drop-ins welcome.
